Men Only Buy New Pants Every Five Years

When it comes to buying new undies, it appears that men are, well, a bit pants at it, as a survey has revealed that some fellas only get new underwear every five years, and some men even hang on to the same old battered briefs for up to 20 years!

According to the Daily Mail, clothing firm Tom Clinch, who conducted the survey, wants men to take more pride when purchasing their pants, and not just waiting their partners to buy them as presents for birthdays and Christmas.

Some experts say that underwear should be replaced every six months to a year. Even with regular washing, undies can become a breeding ground for infection-causing bacteria.

Founder Nick Clinch found it heartbreaking to see women buying multipacks of underwear for their husbands in their 40s and 50s. “It was deeply depressing to discover that men invest in something as important as underwear so infrequently,” he said.

“They don’t hesitate to throw money at expensive suits but cut corners with underwear. It’s like buying a Ferrari and filling it up with cooking oil.

Another recent poll from YouGov revealed that 38 per cent of men prefer a loose-fitting boxer short, while 27 per cent favour briefs or Y-fronts, and 25 per cent enjoy tighter boxer shorts.

However, fertility doctors have warned that wearing tight pants for too long will affect the sperm count, as the testicles become too warm.

We agree that men should have more pride in their shopping for undies, and men’s colourful designer underwear will have any fella feeling proud and comfy!
